Now Editing Chapbooks and Single Poems (Oh My!)

NEW OFFERINGS! (for the full menu of services, see Editing and Consultation)

Single Poem Transformation: ($75)

Ok, this one’s just for fun. Send me a poem (no more than two pages please) and I’ll revise the hell out of it for you. I’ll take what you give me and make it better:) On my end: I’ll treat your revision like I would my own, which means a lot of cuts and changes. On your end: keep your original and keep it light, fun and adventurous.

Chapbook Editing: ($360 at an estimated 8 hours)

I’m now offering chapbook editing and consultation services, in light of the fact that many poets begin with a chapbook-length manuscript. I will consider chapbooks up to 24 pages in length and will adjust rates if your collection is under 15 pages. This option includes a thorough reading of the manuscript, line edits on each poem, as well as a one page written summary of the overall theme, strengths and weaknesses, areas of particular concern, poems that could be cut, or added, and basic suggestions to strengthen the whole. I may also suggest alternate titles if my reading of the poems suggests one. I can suggest some venues for publication, both contests and open submission periods, if you’re interested. This service includes an email consultation where you can ask any questions pertaining to my summary or general questions you have about the manuscript, submitting, etc.

Chapbook Manuscript Summary: ($180 at an estimated 4 hours)

If you’re not ready to commit to a full chapbook edit, you may consider a manuscript summary. I will read the manuscript and offer a one page written summary of its overall theme, strengths and weaknesses, areas of particular concern, poems that could be cut, or added, and basic suggestions to strengthen the whole. I may also suggest alternate titles if my reading of the poems suggests one. I will tell you if I feel the manuscript needs heavy or light editing and if it’s ready to submit for publication (in my opinion). I can suggest some venues for publication, both contests and open submission periods, if you’re interested. This service includes an email consultation where you can ask any questions pertaining to my summary or general questions you have about the manuscript, submitting, etc.
